3 Days  Chimpanzee Wildlife Safari to Kibale National Park

Overview

A 3-day chimpanzee wildlife safari to Kibale National Park offers an immersive primate experience in one of Africa’s richest tropical rainforest. Known as the “primate capital of the world,” Kibale is home to a large population of chimpanzees along with several other primate species, making it ideal for close and rewarding wildlife encounters. The highlight of the safari is guided chimpanzee trekking through dense forest trails, where you observe these intelligent and social animals in their natural habitat. Combined with scenic forest walks, birdlife, and the tranquility of the rainforest, this short safari provides a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and unforgettable primate experiences.

Itinerary

After breakfast at 9am we meet our driver/guide and transfer to Fort portal/Kibale Forest National Park for an opportunity to see some of the unique species of Uganda wildlife. Lunch is en-route arrive Kibale in the evening to check in refresh have dinner and rest early to prepare well for the forest experience the next day. 

Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga safari lodge/Primate safari lodge luxury cottages, or Turaco treetops lodge 

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After breakfast go to the park headquarters for briefing about the park rules and the chimpanzees. Thereafter proceed into the forest to search for the habituated Chimpanzees. The search lasts between 2-4hours depending on how far they have gone into the forest in search for food. Other primates to see are: Vervet Monkeys, olive baboons, grey cheeked mangabey plus the black and white Colobus among others. Return to the lodge to relax and after lunch go for a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Bigodi is host to over 138 bird species, several primates like the Black and white Colobus monkey, blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey and the red-tailed monkeys. The Bigodi wetland nature walks are an initiative of the local community and are therefore a direct way of giving back to the community. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Safari Lodge/Primate Safari Lodge,  or Turaco Treetops Lodge

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and head out to see the crater Lakes of Ndali and the “top of the world”- the views are breathtaking here.  Full of memories of Uganda’s captivating primates that consist of a wider population of Uganda wildlife we will depart Kibale area. Have lunch en route with a chance to savor some of Uganda’s home-grown tropical fruits in season. Continue to the airport fly out.
