Meru National Park

Meru National Park is a protected area and one of the most popular safari destination in Kenya covering an area of 870 square kilometer, located 350km from Nairobi. Meru National park is famous for Elsa’s the lioness which was raised by George and Joy Adamson and it is buried in the park. The park is comprised of mainly thorny bush land in the North, wooded grasslands in the West and open grassland elsewhere. Meru National Park has a wide range of animal’s species ranging from Grevy’s Zebra, Elephants, Eland, Bush Pig, Waterbuck, Cheetah, Leopard, Reticulated Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Bohor Reedbuck, Hartebeest, Python, Puff Udder, Cobra, Buffalo, more than 427 recorded species of birds. The Tana River and Adamson Falls are the key features of the National park.
