Lake Elementeita

Lake Elementeita is located in between Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. The Name Elementeita was derived from Maasai Word which they named the place a dusty place. The Lake Ementeita is a UNESCO Heritage site together with Lake Bogoria National Reserve and Lake National Reserve and is a Ramsar site since 2005. The Lake supports over 400 bird species including flamingoes which come from Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria both lesser and greater flamingoes feed on blue-green algae. Nearby Soysambu, the protected area near the Lake established Lord Delamere, a 48,000 acres which is home to over 12,000 animals including; Lions, Leopard, Hyenas, giraffes, primates, primates among others.
