Rooms
Man Eaters Camp consists of 30 luxury en-suit tents, each with a private balcony overlooking the Tsavo River. There is a central lounge, restaurant and bar and a rock-built swimming pool. One kilometer from Tsavo station and bridge, Man Eaters Camp is named after the two man-eating lions that devoured countless workers during the building of the famous ‘Lunatic Line’. One of the epic dramas of Victorian railway construction the so-called ‘Lunatic Line’ climbs from sea level at Mombasa through desert, grass plain, mountain and forest to cross the Equator at 2,785 meters before descending to the humid shores of Lake Victoria at 1,520 m whilst traversing most of the geographic and climatic range of Africa in the course of its 1,000km length.
